Finally, a good example of how to clean a carpet. It seems like no one takes the time to vacuum properly, but you sure as heck do. Anyone that runs a bagged vacuum, and is a carpet cleaner is not doing a proper job of vacuuming.

Damn you must do 2 jobs in a daily basis. Good work BTW

P O G directly on the carpet to soak directly to the backing? Is it true that solvents penetrate to the backing much faster than plain water ??? Very Interesting...490 sq. ft. 2 hours just to vacuum must be a total job time of 4 hours. Thats 122.5 sq. ft. per hour, what do you charge per sq. ft.?

I used a citrus gel on the paint, not POG. More enviro-friendly; more technician-friendly to!I try to use as eco-friendly solutions that will do the job.

I agree in some aspects for what you are saying about the RX-20, the video is about the only thing corporate allows us to use so... I dont like negative campaigning so I have been a steemer along time before the cd system, if cleaners actually cleaned like you do in your video then everyone would be happy but in all fairness you saw it and ..

what is the machine you use to work the cleaner in the fabric ?
hcciam
Its a Sebo Duo Brush machine. Used for HOST type cleaning. Works well, only 11lbs. Great for stairs.

Thats too long on vacuum! You must charge a lot for the time spent. I can't take that long.Gary,Weebco Carpet Cleaning

That's what most cleaners say Gary, however that's how long it took to remove the dry soil from the carpet. Anything less and I would have left mud. I don't know another machine that would remove it any faster and as complete. An actual pile lifter would have missed over half of it though the pile would look nice ;-)As for price, I'm not the most, but I'm definitely not the least. Thanks for your comments.

I'd have to charge over $1.00 a foot to vacuum for 2 Hour!, I charge .45 a foot, the customer vacuums, I Cimex with a soapfree cleaner, then wand with my truckmount at 200 degrees, and then groom the fibers, I don't think I could get anyone to pay me 2 to 3 times that when they could vacuum for free!
hcciam
Well, the soil you saw me remove would still remain in the carpet if I left it to the homeowner's vacuum. That's why I do what I do.You would have made $220.50 to my $294, but the cimex would have ground the remaining soil into the carpet. After rinsing, it would look great. The customer would never know the difference. SO how much do we really need to charge so that we take the time to actually do our job as described in the Standard, ie "to remove the soil from the carpet"?

Ron, I make sure my clients vacuum before my arivial, I carry a Sanitare just in case. I'm thinking of selling them to my clients. They should vacuum a couple times a week and not wait for you to do it once or twice a year! Unless they like massive fiber wear from the ground in dirt.

i charge 8-10 cents($89 min), and tell them to prevac. i turn the heat all the way up i get 240-270 degrees at the machine, I pre-spray, then extract holding the trigger both directions, then a dry pass. if they don't prevac, i do a dry pass first. i have to go cheap like that, most my customers are cheap, but the jobs turn out awesome(cause most are just dirty pig houses) and away i go, next!

wheres the steam? not enough heat, maybe thats why it takes so long, the cleaning power just isn't there....
hcciam
there's plenty of heat and cleaning power. The dry soil has already been removed. Remaining soil has been emulsified and just needs to be rinsed off. Anything over 220 is just wasted energy. My clients aren't cheap. They "expect" the carpet to be clean, not just look clean. I understand that there are a lot of people that won't or can't pay for a service like I provide and its good that there are cleaners that can accomodate them and still wow them. Kudos to you.

Great Job! These guys left the carpet looking Brand New!

Well, that room should of took half the time and looked just as good, You should not be using a slider on the bottom of your wand for that dirty of a room, it does not suck up as well, there for leaving the carpet more wet.silly goose
hcciam
You made just the point that I wanted to make by doing this video. You would take "half" the time and it would "look" just as good. BUT it wouldn't "BE" AS GOOD!As for the glide, they dry the carpet far better than without. And since I vacuumed, its ideal.Better get on Mikeysboard and find out whats going on in the industry!
